Our Mission at Leasing101 is to provide leasing industry training, advice and information to lessors, business schools, accountants and CFOs – some free and some at a modest cost.
Rules, rules, rules – tax, accounting, financial reporting, regulatory, legal are all areas that impact leasing. Know your product options. Know your customer. Know the implications of the rules to your customer.
Knowing how the rules impact your customer and understanding your customer’s needs are the bases for your creative problem solving. To beat the competition you have to create the right product and product options to meet the customer’s needs.
To sell against borrowing to buy or a competitor’s offer you have to have a clear, concise hard hitting presentation. Comparative product alternative analysis of key financial measures wins the large ticket deals.
Our Experience + Knowledge + Problem Solving = Sound Advice. We have advised lessors, lessees, trade associations and lawyers (as an expert witness).

ELFA SPONSORSHIP
The ELFA sponsored Bill as a member of the FASB/IASB Lease Accounting Project Working Group. As such, Bill attended all the FASB project meetings and some of the IASB meetings representing ELFA. Bill’s efforts on the lease accounting project led to a favorable outcome when the final rule changes were approved in the United States by the FASB as operating leases, although partially capitalized, are still accounted for differently from finance leases reflecting their economic substance as executory contracts. Bill served on the Equipment Leasing and Finance Association (ELFA) Financial Accounting Committee for almost 30 years, 10 of which as Chairman.
