This website is intended to introduce you to me, Leasing 101, my training program and my advisory services. It also provides free stuff like my writings on leasing topics, Excel based analytical tools and directions other industry information and resources. Bill Bosco
Leasing is very complex and affordable training for staff is hard to find. My training offering includes orientation, entry level, product knowledge, customer needs, complexities of customer probing, structuring to meet customer needs and presenting in a clear persuasive way to win the business. Besides asset finance sales persons, It is suitable for college level corporate finance programs and curious CFOs.
Ask for samples segments. There are 12 PowerPoint files with sound, 6 PDF files of role playing customer calls and 6 PDF files of my writings and 3 sample customer proposal pitch books. These have been the core of my face to face training business for the last 20 years and training of my colleagues at work and the ELFA Industry Meetings for 10 years before that.
Sign up for a one year subscription for $5,000. All your staff/students will be able to view and listen to the training materials as many times as they like. No downloading is allowed. The unlimited online feature (as many views as you like by all your staff/students) can save thousands of dollars in training costs.
The Equipment Leasing and Finance Association honored me with a distinguished service award and induction into their leasing hall of fame. The leasing industry trade association, the Monitor, honored me at their 50th anniversary gala as the MVP behind the scenes for my 50 years of writing and industry advocacy. I was chosen as one of 18 worldwide industry experts to be on the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) and International Accounting Standards Board Lease (IASB) Accounting Project Working Group to help develop the lease accounting rules change (Topic 842 that replaced FASB 13).
I have no competition in training the mid to large ticket lease segments which represent 80% of the annual lease dollar volume. My training includes an explanation of the rules but more importantly the implications to lessees. I have experience in all types of assets and leasing market segments – direct, dealer and vendor. I provide new product ideas. I provide marketing advice including sample pitch books, presentation ideas and customer fact sheets.
I’m not just a trainer – there are lots of them with no real world “doer” experience. I have 30 years hands on experience working for large bank lessors. 10 years in the controller role managing accounting and financial reporting. 20 years in structuring, pricing, new product development, selling and marketing leases to customers and training internal staff. 20 years as a consultant, advising the ELFA, traing lessor sales staffs in selling under the changed accounting rules and advising both lessors and lessees on lease issues.
I cross sold leasing to my bank’s wealth group customers – private jet leases and professional partnership leasehold improvements leases. I won the largest single funding in my division (a B757 team plane for an NBA team) and the first leveraged lease with a service contract as the debt’s security (a meter and meter reading system for the 7th largest city in the country). I introduced the synthetic lease structure to our business and trained our sales staff to execute them.
